Radical Inkjet (workshop)
Workshop, 2019 - ongoing
Radical Inkjet is a visual research project dedicated to the practice of printing large characters with small printers. It studies A4 letter compositions as a vernacular, low-budget window-sign practice in which single printouts are assembled into temporary, ad-hoc public messages.
Developed as a workshop for design students, Radical Inkjet centers Microsoft Word as a design tool challenging participants to push default softwares, system settings and office printing to their limits. Through collective research, students design, print and install their own A4 compositions while experimenting with alternative design tools and publishing methods.
This workshop has been conducted at Crossmedia Design, AKI ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Enschede (2024, 2x) and Graphic Design, ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Arnhem (2019).
